PDF File Preparation

Use Adobe Acrobat Distiller 4.x when preparing PDF files. All high resolution data and fonts should be embedded in the PDF file. Do not subset fonts, even at 100%. Make the trim size 0.75" larger than final page size on all sides.

Fonts

Do not stylize fonts in page layout program; use the fonts containing the desired attribute. For example, instead of using Helvetica from the font menu and selecting bold in the program's style menu, select Helvetica Bold from the font menu.

Small Type

Avoid applying multiple colors to small type (6pt or smaller) and avoid knocking small type out of a multiple color background.

Trapping

Our CREO Prinergy system incorporates trapping as an automated feature within the output process. It is not necessary for customers to apply trapping to files sent to Synergy Web Graphics. However, you can request that we honor your traps in embedded files.
